Spain at CSI 5* Casas Novas

On July 14, 15 and 16, the International Show Jumping Competition (CSI) was held in A Coruña (Spain), where there was a Spanish presence.

The CSI 5* International Show Jumping Competition in Casas Novas

Last July, the CSI 5* was held at the Casas Novas Equestrian Center, one of the most important equestrian sporting events of the summer, with the participation of 6 Spanish riders. Undoubtedly, this event was key and decisive for the RFHE selection committee to choose the team that will soon participate in the European Championships.

Beyond the tests, participants and attendees were able to enjoy a complete experience with gastronomy, leisure, activities and solidarity bets.
If we talk about the center where the competition was held, we can highlight that it is one of the best known nationally and where several very important equestrian competitions are held. Therefore, it receives a large number of riders with their horses and many lovers of the equestrian world in its facilities.

Casas Novas is a center that has stables for its own horses as well as for the horses that participate in the competitions held in its facilities. It also offers riding lessons for children and adults, organizes summer camps, organizes Gymkhanas, carries out gallop exams and gives adapted riding lessons.

In short, for 22 years it has been a very prominent center in the world of horses and Spanish equestrian lovers.

Results of CSI 5* Casas Novas 2023

Throughout the competition at the Casas Novas Equestrian Center in A Coruña, different tests were carried out, for which different trophies were disputed.

  • Inaugural Trophy: Jesús Garmendia Echevarria and his horse Valut.
  • NH Collection Trophy: Luca Maria Moneta and his horse Kingston.
  • Caixabank Round 1 GCL Trophy: Henrik von Eckermann and Dzara Dorchival.
  • Caixabank Trophy Round 2 GCL: Bertram Allen and Pacino Amiro

Spanish riders who participated in the CSI 5*

This competition, held in Galicia, also welcomed different Spanish riders. Some of them very prominent in the equestrian world, such as, for example:

  • Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, Spanish rider best classified in the Longines FEI ranking and the first at national level.
  • Teresa Blázquez Abascal, winner of the CSI2* Grand Prix in 2022.
  • Alberto Márquez Galobardes, winner of the CaixaBank Trophy of the CSI5* in 2022.
  • Mariano Martínez Bastida, winner of the GP Liga Oro Trofeo Federación Hípica de Madrid (1.50 meters).
  • Santiago Núñez Riva, third classified in the 1.55 meters Suzuki Grand Prix of the Andalucía Sunshine Equestrian Tour.
  • Iván Serrano, winner of the RFHE Gold Jumping League.

The CSI 5* Casas Novas, decisive for the FEI European Championships in Milan

The International Show Jumping Competition held in A Coruña last month was the last test before the celebration of the European Show Jumping Championships in Milan (Italy) next August 29th to September 3rd

Therefore, this test in Casas Novas was decisive and fundamental for the RFHE committee whose one of its main objectives was to choose the team of Spanish riders who will represent Spain in Milan. In addition, the results achieved in the Italian city are decisive to be able to have Spanish presence in the Olympic Games in Paris in the equestrian modality.

Undoubtedly, from Equspaddock, as true lovers of the horse world, we like to follow closely the different equestrian competitions. In this way, we can innovate and improve the track accessories that we manufacture in our facilities for the different modalities and disciplines. In the same way, this allows us to continue to guarantee the safety of both horses and riders.

Therefore, in the coming weeks we will be keeping an eye on the next continental championship and its results. The equine world is in continuous movement and the Spanish teams have a great presence both nationally and internationally.
